Overview & Highlights

Nestled in the heart of Peoria, Pablo's Ice Cream House is far more than your average ice cream shop — it's a vibrant culinary gem that brilliantly marries authentic Hispanic flavors with the nostalgic charm of a classic malt shop. Located at 724 E Frye Ave, this welcoming spot invites you to indulge not only in creamy, freshly made ice creams but also in a delightful array of authentic dishes that make every visit an adventure for your taste buds.

Step inside and you’ll immediately sense a warm, friendly atmosphere combined with a clean, inviting space that feels both nostalgic and fresh. The eclectic candy displays add a playful touch, evoking memories of old-time ice cream parlors, yet the menu offers a much richer experience than just sweet treats.

While the ice cream here is stellar — with flavors like rich coconut that leave a refreshing, tropical finish — the real surprise is the incredible variety of savory offerings that beckon diners for a full meal. From barbacoa burritos bursting with tender, flavorful meat to crispy chicken empanadas and savory flautas, each bite tells a story of tradition and fresh ingredients. The pupusas, a Central American favorite, come packed with authentic, savory fillings that tempt you for just one more bite.

The beverage selection complements the food beautifully. Their aguas frescas — featuring unique seasonal selections like watermelon, pineapple, and passion fruit — are refreshingly vibrant and a perfect palate cleanser. The horchata, lauded by regulars for its smooth, cinnamon-kissed sweetness, pairs wonderfully with both savory and sweet offerings.

One cannot help but be charmed by the staff, who bring warmth and genuine kindness to the experience. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick scoop or settling in to explore the menu’s full range, their friendly service ensures you feel right at home.

Real customers rave about the authenticity and freshness that shine through every dish. One delighted visitor discovered so much more than ice cream, sampling the red velvet and tres leches cakes to ringing endorsements of the flavorful tacos, guisados, and pambazos. Another customer beautifully described the shop as a “very special neighborhood place,” capturing the genuine, heartfelt vibe that Pablo’s Ice Cream House offers to Peoria’s community.

For those seeking exceptional ice cream integrated into a broader, rich culinary experience, Pablo’s Ice Cream House stands out as a must-visit. It beautifully delivers on freshness, flavor, and friendly service — an unexpected treasure that elevates the ice cream shop concept to delicious new heights.

We went in wanting to get a little Ice cream and ended up ordering a barbacoa burrito, chicken empanadas, flautas , pupusa for dinner to try a good selection. As well as their red velvet cake and tres leche for later It was all delicious, everything was super fresh and flavorful. I highly recommend their horchata as well. The gentleman at the counter was very nice and made sure everything was fresh and good for us. Its a lovely family owned restaurant and I think it deserves a visit from anyone living in Peoria or even just visiting.

The aguas frescas are great and they often have different selections from other places like: watermelon, pineapple and passion fruit. The meat is tender and they have great specials like: guisados and pambazos. Work your way through the menu. From tacos, caldos and ice creams, you won't be disappointed.

The staff was friendly and the shop looks soooo welcoming. Nice and clean. Ice cream is fresh and tastes amazing. Great prices as well. This is an awesome spot, especially for the area it’s in!

Great food. Had the chicken tortas. Lots of flavor. Coconut ice cream was also good. Friendly staff.

Probably the most authentic Hispanic resturant in Peoria. The Aguas Frescas are fresh and

I have never been even remotely close to here, but I love the name

We only went for ice cream, which was excellent, but it smelled fantastic so I suspect the food is just as good. Everything was clean and reminded me a little of an old time malt shop with all the eclectic candy and things to buy. We just popped in for ice cream because we were in the area, but it looked like a very special neighborhood place and I hope everyone there appreciates it.
